PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) has been exclusive to the Xbox One for the better part of the year and now Microsoft is bringing the battle royale sensation to its Xbox Game Pass subscription service in addition to it being sold separately. The company announced the news at X018, its Xbox fan fest. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play PUBG via the service this month with the PUBG Xbox Game Pass release date being November 12.

"We know that having a diverse catalog of games is important to Xbox Game Pass members so today, we are excited to announce new blockbuster games becoming available in time for the holidays, including PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), the definitive battle royale experience, pitting 100 players against each other in a struggle for survival across a variety of thrilling and immersive environments. PUBG will be available to all members beginning on November 12," a post from Ashley McKissick, Head of Xbox Game Pass reads.

This isn't all. Other games coming to Xbox Game Pass include Ori and the Blind Forest, Kingdom Two Crowns, and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice this December. Plus, Thomas Was Alone from Volume hitmaker Bithell Games, Agents of Mayhem, and MXGP3 will find their way to Xbox Game Pass on November 22.

Previously, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella stated that the company has plans to bring the Netflix-styled game subscription service to Windows 10 PC. At the moment, Xbox Game Pass is restricted to the Xbox One. Though this could change soon enough. While Nadella didn't outline concrete plans for this to happen, it's odd that X018 didn't have more details pertaining to it.

"Bringing Game Pass to even the PC is going to be a big element of [increasing the strength of our gaming community]," said Nadella during a conference call after Microsoft's earnings call (via Gaming Bolt).

It will be interesting to see how Xbox Game Pass would work on Windows 10 PC. Reason being, Xbox Game Pass has helped the company bolster its Xbox One sales and bringing it to PC may simply give consumers less of a reason to bother with the company's hardware. That being said, we won't be surprised to see it lean on the Xbox Play Anywhere program Microsoft launched a couple of years prior.
