While Sony rolls-out its PlayStation 4 system software update v1.70 to its users, new details have sprung up online regarding the pre-load feature for games that came with it.

To recall, the game pre-loading feature is a part of the PlayStation 4 system software v1.70 update, and allows users to download pre-ordered games near their release. The pre-loaded games cannot be played until release day, when they will be unlocked. The feature, available on other platforms (such as Steam), is meant to help enthusiastic gamers save downloading time on launch day.

The latest details about the feature come via a PlayStation 4 user on the NeoGAF forum who had pre-ordered Watch Dogs, and was informed in a system message that the pre-load feature wasn't available for the game. The message added that game titles pre-ordered after Destiny (a Bungie game scheduled to release on September 9 will be compatible with the pre-loading feature.

"Just got a message via psn saying watch dogs won't have pre-load. Although that's a bummer, the interesting part comes from the fact the note says all games post destiny will support the feature. So that's good to know," stated sjay1994 on NeoGAF along with a screenshot (Seen above.)

Moreover, the Sony PlayStation's Support website also states "Beginning with Destiny, all pre-order titles added to the PlayStation Store after 4/30/14 will have the pre-load functionality. This lets you rest easy knowing that your game will be ready to play as soon as the game launches."

Some of the other features included in the Sony PlayStation 4 system software v1.70 update are SHAREfactory feature for gameplay video editing; turn-off HDCP option to share longer gameplay clips via the HDMI output; 720p resolution Twitch broadcasts; DualShock 4 controller update; alternate payment methods (APMs) including PayPal support, and other minor updates.

Talking about Watch Dogs, the game went on sale on Wednesday worldwide, and had some midnight launches in select Indian cities on Tuesday. The open-world hacking-based action game created and published by Ubisoft was launched for Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The Nintendo's Wii U version of Watch Dogs is set to arrive later this year.
