Nvidia has finally gives its Tegra 4-powered, Android-based handheld gaming device a price and release date. The device will start shipping in June and pre-orders begin May 20 for a price of $349.
Nvidia had announced the device as 'Project Shield' back in January at this year's CES in Las Vegas. It will be amongst the first devices to benefit from the power of Tegra 4 beneath its wings alongside 2GB of RAM. Nvidia confirmed the launch date and price via a blog post.
It comes with a 5-inch, 1280x720 HD retinal multitouch display and built-in speakers and features capability to play 4K video. Shield owners will be able to play games from Nvidia's own TegraZone, Google Play and Valve's Steam.
