One of Stan Lee's most beloved creations is getting split, for a new video game.
"Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions" -- the web-slinger's latest adventure, this time in the form of a videogame, finds players controlling Spider-Man in four distinct versions.
"There's the Original Spider-Man," Lee says. "You have the 'Spider-Man of the Future -- 99' who glides down from those huge buildings, then you have the Ultimate Spider-Man, who is the younger Spider-Man as a teenager. So I think it's a great idea. Because it gives the game-players four different characters to be involved in, to choose which one he or she wants to be -- how to play it."
Each art design and type of Spidey gives players a different type of gameplay as well -- Stan Lee himself will serve as the game's narrator.
"Obviously they couldn't have the game without me because I narrate the game," Lee said. "Narrating a game was not work. That was fun. I should have paid them. Come to think of it, I don't think I did get paid."
Sony studio decided to reboot the "Spider-Man" movie franchise this year -- replacing star Tobey Maguire with British actor Andrew Garfield.
Activision's "Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions" is set for release next month.
The next "Spider-Man" movie however, has yet to begin shooting.
