Soon after the announcement of Mortal Kombat X, Microsoft has announced the next instalment of Forza Horizon, called Forza Horizon 2.
The news comes from IGN, which states that the upcoming Forza Horizon 2 is arriving on Xbox One and Xbox 360 gaming consoles later this year. "[Turn 10 and Playground] share this belief that we can create a true home for racing fans on Xbox One," said Horizon 2 creative director Ralph Fulton to the gaming blog.
The open-world racing game will sport hundreds of cars with the highlight being the 2015 Lamborghini Huracan. Furthermore, the Forza Horizon 2 is said to include the much-awaited weather system along with the similar Drivatar system used in Forza Motorsport 5.
Forza Horizon 2 is reportedly set in Southern Europe and will include a music festival around which the game's activities will revolve.
While the Forza Horizon 2's Xbox One version is being created solely by Playground Games with Forza Motorsport 5's graphics engine as its base, the Xbox 360 version is being taken care of by Sumo Digital with Forza Horizon's graphic engine as the base model. The game will be showcased at the upcoming E3 2014 event.
Some of the other games that might debut at E3 2014 are Uncharted, Halo 5, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Assassin's Creed Unity, Dishonored II, Tom Clancy's: The Division, Destiny, Battlefield: Hardline, Star Wars: Battlefront, Batman: Arkham Knight, FarCry 4 and Resident Evil 7.
In related news, Forza Motorosport 5 recently got a "Bondurant" car pack DLC. The pack brings 10 new cars including 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed, a 1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee, and the 2013 Mazda MX-5 Cup. The pack is available for $10 from Xbox Live however, the DLC comes free for those who already have the Forza 5 Car Pass.
