Fortnite Season 5 update is now live for Nintendo Switch and iOS. The Fortnite Season 5 patch download size is roughly 2GB on Nintendo Switch and 1.01GB on iOS in-app after a 139MB download via the App Store. It brings significant map changes, new Fortnite skins and much more. Some of these include viking ships, desert outposts, and ancient islands, new Flintlock weapon sets, and a new vehicle called the All Terrain Kart (ATK) for you and your squad to uncover all new locales in-game. Furthermore, the Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass is also available with 100 levels, over 100 new rewards and is available now from 950 V-Bucks onwards. More importantly however, the Nintendo Switch version of Fortnite gets gyroscope control support and Fortnite iOS gets a host of options such as autofire.

Fortnite iOS and Nintendo Switch Season 5 patch notes

  • Autofire has been added as an option on mobile platforms. Enabling this causes the player's weapon to automatically fire when the reticle is over an enemy that is within range.
  • Players will be given the option to select their preferred fire mode after launching. All players can change their preferred fire mode by navigating to Options, Custom HUD Layout, then choosing the ‘Select Fire Mode’ option and confirming their selection: tap-to-fire, a dedicated fire button, and autofire.
  • The Thermal Scoped AR now has the proper visual effects on all devices.
  • Vehicle passengers can now detonate Remote Explosives.
  • Entering build mode while holding the “fire” button will no longer adversely affect your ability to build in the future.
  • Health and Shield numbers will no longer be displayed as your own while spectating.
  • The funky electronic track to the Dance Moves emote on Mobile/Switch platforms has been re-enabled.
  • Gyro/motion controls have been added to the Nintendo Switch. Adjust these options in the Settings menu
