Aside from being role-playing games on the PS4 and PS4 Pro, it appears that Final Fantasy XV and Bloodborne have something else in common. According to a report from Digital Foundry, both suffer from frame-pacing. What this means is, the image does not look smooth even if the frame rate is what it should be.

“The end result is that you get a jittery presentation that actually looks like a lower frame-rate presentation. Frames should arrive paced at clean 33ms intervals, but instead they persist for 16ms, 33ms or even 50ms. In a third person title like Final Fantasy 15, which has a lot of sweeping camera movement, the perceived judder is difficult to ignore,” a post on Digital Foundry reads.

However, keep in mind that this is purely subjective. During our playthrough of Final Fantasy XV and Bloodborne at the time, we didn’t notice this to be an issue in our review and previews.

In our Final Fantasy XV review we noted that the game is without question the Final Fantasy game fans have been waiting for. That's actually surprising given how tumultuous its decade-long development has been. For first-timers, it depends how tolerant you are of narrative failings. Look past that, and you’re treated to fantastic moment to moment gameplay, and an intricate set of systems that will have you coming back for more.
