At Disney's D23 Expo, Sony announced a new PlayStation 4 special edition console featuring the iconic Star Wars character, Darth Vader. In the past, the company has released the PS4 sporting iconic characters like Batman or Snake from the Metal Gear Solid series. With Star Wars Battlefront and Disney Infinity 3.0 hitting tshelves in November, the console will feature bundles for both games.
The limited edition PS4 has an image of Darth Vader across the top of the console. In addition to this, it comes with a Dual Shock 4 controller featuring artwork inspired by the Sith lord's chest panel with a Star Wars logo on the touchpad.
The first bundle that features this console is for Star Wars Battlefront. It has Star Wars Battlefront Deluxe Edition, a digital voucher for four classic Star Wars games. Three of them were previously on the PS2. These include Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, and Star Wars Bounty Hunter. The fourth game is Super Star Wars, a game that was on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). All of them sport enhanced graphics and trophy support for the PS4.
The second bundle that has the console is Disney Infinity 3.0. It comes with a Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars Edition PlayStation Exclusive Hardware Bundle Kit. This includes a physical copy of Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition, the Disney Infinity Base, the Rise Against the Empire Play Set Pack (with Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa figures, as well the Rise Against the Empire Play Set piece), and the Boba Fett figure, which is exclusive to PlayStation through this holiday. The bundle also has a digital voucher for the four classic Star Wars games mentioned above.
While an India release for these bundles is unlikely due to BIS concerns, Sony has stated that they would be available in the US from November 17 with "pre-orders starting soon".
