Overwatch and Hearthstone hitmaker Blizzard hosts its annual convention BlizzCon 2017 this weekend. It’s where you can expect new information and updates for its games such as World of Warcraft, Heroes of the Storm, and the aforementioned Overwatch and Hearthstone. Here’s how you can watch it all.
BlizzCon 2017 begins with the opening ceremony that will be live streamed. You can watch it from 11am PT (11:30pm IST) on November 3 and it will last for around an hour. This year, Blizzard will present from three stages: the main “Mythic” stage, the Overwatch Arena, and the Hearthstone tournament stage.
You can watch BlizzCon 2017’s opening ceremony from:
While the opening ceremony is free for all, if you want to check out the other panels and discussion you’ll need a BlizzCon Virtual Ticket that costs $40 (around Rs. 2,600).
BlizzCon 2016 saw a new character reveal for Overwatch, Diablo 3 getting The Darkening of Tristram event, and Hearthstone seeing a new expansion. BlizzCon 2017 should see more around Overwatch and Hearthstone, with perhaps more information around the company’s e-sports plans for both games.
There have been rumours of Blizzard working on a new mobile game and a new first-person shooter according to job listings spotted on the company website. Furthermore, the company has filed a trademark application for Battle of Azeroth via the New Zealand Intellectual Property Office. Given that New Zealand is a popular market for smartphone game makers to test their games before rolling them out worldwide, there is an outside chance that this could be Blizzard’s new mobile game based on the Warcraft universe.
Disclosure: Blizzard sponsored the correspondent's flights and hotel for BlizzCon 2017.
