After many a leak, it was confirmed that Ubisoft will not be releasing a new Assassin's Creed game any time soon. That however, has not ruled out a re-release of its older games.
According to the eagle-eyed members of popular gaming forum NeoGAF, Assassin's Creed Ezio Collection will be making it to the PS4 and Xbox One. Information pertaining to this was discovered on the Game Rating and Administration Committee, a South Korean content rating board.
While Ubisoft has yet to make an official announcement regarding the same, the title implies that it's a compilation of games starring Ezio - the series' most well-known assassin. This means it would have Assassin's Creed 2, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed: Revelations.
Earlier in the year Ubisoft stated that Assassin's Creed would be taking a year off is needed to "evolve the game mechanics" of everyone's favourite historical murder simulator series.
"This year, we also are stepping back and re-examining the Assassin's Creed franchise. As a result, we've decided that there will not be a new Assassin's Creed game in 2016. Since the release of Assassin's Creed Unity, we've learned a lot based on your feedback," a post from the publisher read at the time. "We've also updated our development processes and recommitted to making Assassin's Creed a premier open-world franchise."
With a wealth of new games hitting the shelves both digital and physical from September onwards, it's safe to say that Ubisoft will probably release this early next year in the run up to its next new Assassin's Creed game that's possibly going to take place in Egypt.
