Microsoft on Thursday announced that Age of Empires: Definitive Edition will be officially launched on February 20. The game will be available globally for Windows 10 PCs at a price of $19.99 (roughly Rs. 1,300). Features of the game include a new 4K presentation, Xbox Live support, LAN play support, new orchestral soundtrack, campaign narration, and custom campaign mode. Global multiplayer beta will be opened up on January 29.
After promising an October 2017 launch, Microsoft has now shifted the new launch date of Age of Empires: Definitive Edition to February 2018. In this remaster of the original classic, Microsoft has added several new features. Here is the full list of changes.
Microsoft claims that it has retained the original gameplay experience while providing improvements around it in order to fill up the gaps. The company also announced Age of Empires IV back in August; the game is yet to see the light of day.
The company had also detailed minimum system requirements for the game last year. These include Windows 10 version 14393.0 or higher, 4GB of RAM, 8-10GB of storage, Intel HD 4000 graphics or higher, and 1.8GHz dual-core processor or higher. Recommended specifications included 16GB RAM, 8-10GB storage, Nvidia GeForce GTX 650/ AMD HD 5850, Windows 10 version 14393.0 or higher, and a 2.4GHz Core i5 or higher.
