Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is out this week and preloads for the military shooter have begun on PS4, Xbox One, and of course, PC. Preloads for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on PS4 and Xbox One are rather straightforward as the game shows up in your library for download. With Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 PC however, you'll need a code to use on Battle.net – the Activision-owned digital distribution service – to preload the game. Considering the number of deals around the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, albeit with code delivery promised on the game's release day, makes the situation seem less than ideal for the budget-minded PC gamer. However there's a way around this. Users of the Black Ops 4 subreddit have outlined a way to let you preload Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on PC without a code, which has been verified to work by many. Useful when you consider the game's mammoth 55GB download size. Here's what you need to know.
1. Navigate to where your Battle.net app is installed
2. Press shift and right click
3. Select Open PowerShell Window Here
4. Type in the following code without quotation marks to trigger the download
".\Battle.net.exe –game=viper –install"
Needless to say, you'll still need to buy the game to play it on the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 release date of October 12 as you will need to key in the code for the game before it can run.
And in case you were wondering about what kind of PC you'd need to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, we got you covered.
