AMD seems to have slowly let out rumoured launch dates and prices on its new series of cards that are supposedly better that the GTX 9xx series!
The fact that these new cards come with HBM over GDDR5 is something that sounds amazing! Can't wait to see some real benchmarks!
I don't thermals will be that big of a concern if history is any indicator. They took a hit in that department when launching the HD5XXX series and ended up refining it with the 6XXX and 7XXX. What is of interest however, is what they bring to the table in terms of chip architecture etc.
Would be nice to see a return to the glorious 9700pro/9800 era.
Let's see what actually materialises. HBM and 20nm are not confirmed and if the leaked Asetek cooler is anything to go by, thermals are not competitively low. However, AMD has other good stuff going for it now - relationships with devs, more attention being paid to drivers, and general goodwill over Mantle, Freesync etc.
