About Monero

Monero is a privacy focused token that was first released in 2014. It uses something that is called an obfuscated public ledger (Bitcoin uses a public ledger that can be used to track transactions), where the source of funds in a transaction are nearly impossible to trace. This makes it very popular among people who are particularly concerned with privacy and anonymity.

Like Bitcoin, Monero is also a decentralised, peer-to-peer cryptocurrency, but its additional privacy-enhancing features have helped make the coin a popular option.
