Billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) adopts seven children and raises them as a superhero team. The children were called as numbers by their father, but later their Android mother Grace (Jordan Claire Robbins) gave them names.
Number One is Luther Hargreeves/Spaceboy (Tom Hopper), Number Two is Diego Hargreeves/The Kraken (David Castañeda), Number Three is Allison Hargreeves/The Rumor (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Number Four is Klaus Hargreeves/The Séance (Robert Sheehan), Number Five is Five Hargreeves/The Boy (Aidan Gallagher), Number Six is Ben Hargreeves/The Horror (Justin H. Min) and Number Seven is Vanya Hargreeves/The White Violin (Elliot Page).
All the young crimefighting superheroes reluctantly gather for Sir Hargreeves' funeral and are pulled into solving the mystery behind their father's death. Soon, the Hargreeves siblings realise the worst is yet to come.

There's no shortage of superhero comic book stories in our times, both on the big and small screen, though Netflix is likely feeling a little light on that front these days after cancelling most of its Marvel series in the past few months, thanks to the troubles that come with using a property that's ultimately owned by someone else, in this case Disney, which will soon be a competitor in the genre. Thankfully, the sheer abundance of illustrated material means there's no shortage of potential adaptations, albeit not as recognisable as the likes of Daredevil, which is good news for streaming outfits always on the prowl for more original content.
