Superheroes and ordinary men peacefully co-exist. With supervillain The Terror (Jackie Earle Haley) being dead for long, no major challenge seems to be there.
However, an accountant called Arthur Everest (Griffin Newman) believes that the underground villain is still alive.
When Arthur was a kid, the superheroes suffered a massive failure and accidentally killed his father — leaving him mentally unstable ever since.
However, the power-less accountant has been hatching this conspiracy theory — of The Terror being alive, still controlling the world, and also being the real reason behind his father’s death — in his mind and soul.
On his quest to uncover the conspiracy, he is joined by an erratic superhero called Tick (Peter Serafinowicz).
The superhero drama is based on the semi-satirical comic book of the 80s that gave birth to the Tick character.
The show is the third attempt at a television adaptation of the titular character.
The Tick Season 1 TV Series Cast, Episodes, Release Date, Trailer and Ratings
At a time when there are more superheroes on screen than ever before, it was inevitable that someone would want to cut through it all with intelligent satire that poked fun at the culture's tropes and clichés. The Tick – created by Ben Edlund in 1986 as a surreal parody of the superhero comics of the time – was an ideal candidate, given the eponymous superhero's propensity for being over-friendly and perennially optimistic while wearing a bright blue suit with wiggling antennae on his head.
