About The Kingdom of Diamonds Movie (1980)

This dystopian fantasy musical film is the sequel to the anti-war fantasy musical Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne (1969) and also the second installment of the Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne series. The Bengalo title of the movie is Hirak Rajar Deshe.

In the first film, the musicians Goopy (Tapen Chatterjee) and Bagha (Rabi Ghosh) received magical powers. In the sequel, they are invited to the court of the Hirak Raja (Utpal Dutt), The Diamond King, to perform at the kingdom's Anniversary Celebrations.

A sinister plot awaits the musicians, Goopi and Bagha, as they learn about the true intentions of King Hirak.
