About The Chess Players Movie (1977)

Set in 1856, the film traces the fate of Awadh, a kingdom ruled by Wajid Ali Shah (Amjad Khan) and his team of disinterested governors. During the British annexation of Awadh, best friends Mir and Mirza ignore the situation of their kingdom and all their duties towards their families, instead spending their days playing endless games of chess.
