About Soorma Movie (2018)

Soorma is a Bollywood biographical sports drama movie which is based on the life of former hockey player Sandeep Singh who was also known as Flicker Singh.

In the movie, you will come across the real-story incidences of the international hockey player, Sandeep Singh, who made headlines for his miraculous comeback after bearing the pain of paralysis.

Set in Shahabad of 1994 that was known as the hockey capital of India, where every child aspired to be a part of the Indian hockey team. A young Sandeep Singh (Diljit Dosanjh) barely had an interest in hockey because of his stern coach. Then one day, he comes across another hockey player, Harpreet (Taapsee Pannu), who was responsible for reigniting his passion for hockey.

With his hard work and support of his elder brother Bikramjeet Singh (Angad Bedi), he rose to fame and became popular as ?Flicker Singh?. But later, he faced an accidental gunshot which left him paralyzed in the lower half of his body. This accident made him wheelchair-ridden resulting in never being able to play hockey again.

Fighting against all the odds, Sandeep made a comeback in international hockey in 2008. He made this happen through hard work, sheer determination, implacable passion for hockey. Continuous efforts of his elder brother also kept him motivated throughout the struggle. Under his captaincy, India wins the 2009 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and qualifies for the 2012 Olympics.
