Princess Aurora’s (Mary Costa) birth to King Stefan (Taylor Holmes) and Queen Leah (Verna Felton) — after several years of their childless marriage — is being royally celebrated.
The merry is interrupted by the entrance of an evil fairy called Maleficent (Eleanor Audley) who is furious to find that she wasn’t invited. The enraged fairy curses the princess to die on her 16th birthday.
However, the three godfairies — Flora (Verna Felton), Fauna (Barbara Jo Allen), and Merryweather (Barbara Luddy) — present there weaken the curse and change it to the princess falling into a deep slumber of sleep, which can only be broken by a true love’s kiss.
As the sleeping beauty’s 16th birthday approaches, the three fairies must help Prince Philip (Bill Shirley) reach Aurora.
With Maleficent taking every step to not let that happen, will the prince reach Aurora in time to save her?
The animated musical fantasy film is based on the 1697 fairy tale "Sleeping Beauty" by French author Charles Perrault.
