Disney released a new TV spot for Star Wars: The Last Jedi during Game 7 of MLB's 2017 World Series, which includes a couple of new shots. The first one is a solemn Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) standing inside the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon as it boots up, knowing that his friend Han Solo (Harrison Ford) has died.

The other one comes a little later in the 45-second teaser, when Skywalker's previously-heard line: "This is not going to go the way you think," is followed by Rey (Daisy Ridley) towering over him, turning on her lightsaber. It could be a simple case of clever editing to intrigue audiences – in which case, it worked Lucasfilm – but it may well signal a turning point between the duo.

Beyond that, there's a new ominous dialogue from Snoke (Andy Serkis), the Supreme Leader of the First Order. Midway through the spot, he utters: "Darkness rises," and adds after a pause, "and light to meet it." Given the arrangement of the shots, it's clear he's referring to Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) as the former, and Rey and Luke as the latter.

There's not much else to discuss. We've seen Finn (John Boyega) and Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) go at each other before, plus Chewbacca and his new friend Porg, the sweeping shot of Snoke's Throne Room filled with Praetorian Guards, and the Falcon flying through tight spaces.

There's still no proper look at the new characters being played by Laura Dern and Benicio del Toro, which is probably a good thing. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is out December 15 in India and rest of the world.
