About Lucy and Desi Movie (2022)

The documentary explores the lives of Hollywood legends Lucile Ball and Desi Arnaz.

Director Amy Poehler describes the couple as, “A woman and an immigrant who lived the American dream. A sexy power couple who lived and lived publicly. Two industry outsiders who pushed against gender stereotypes. A husband and wife with young children who have a lifetime of rupture and repair."

The documentary spans their love life, public appearances, as well as their impeccable contribution to Hollywood. Inevitably, the documentary also covers the popular sitcom I Love Lucy by the power couple, which changed the face of Hollywood forever.

Archival footage, voice recordings, as well as new interviews form the key elements.
