About Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers TV Series
A 10 part docu-series, Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers follows the success of one of the most dominant and iconic franchises in professional sports.
It features the rise of the Buss Family and tells the tale of how real estate tycoon Dr. Jerry Buss purchased the Los Angeles Lakers in a risky and complex business deal, that in turn went onto changing the basketball business.
Complete with interviews with players, coaches, and front office execs, the series also focuses on the flip side of the deal — dramatic feuds, career-ending illnesses, and a bevy of insurmountable on-court obstacles, the Lakers have weathered intense drama on and off the court. There’s also the personal drama of how Dr. Buss ran the franchise as a mom and pop operation, with the hope of passing it all down to his children, but how sibling rivalry ruined the great, powerful game.
