Got this laptop yesterday. Initial setup took some time but after that this thing is fast. Build is superb, minimal design and lightweight. The screen is just beautiful, and the edge to edge display makes the experience even better. Watched one blu-ray movies on it and the speakers as well the screen justified the experience. If Maxx Audio is turned off then speakers sound tiny, but enabling the software makes wonders. Keyboard could have been better, there is very less feedback from the keys for my taste. I am planning on adding a kingston hyperX impact ram (16 GB) and Samsung m.2 250 GB SSD to this machine. Will give my full review once the upgrades are done. Overall great purchase, love its small form factor.

One Word definition "Excellent"

A superb combination in an extremely dense, slim and premium package. My previous workhorse, a dell xps 2010 model had started showing its hardware limitations and I realized the need for a replacement. And the arrival of this laptop was just perfect for me. But, there was one problem.. this is the very latest (and least publicized) laptop from dell. Frankly speaking, when I saw this product listed, I seriously doubted every bit of information. This is because, there was absolutely no information regarding this on the web there was no one reviewing this unit (hence this review :P). But trust me, this will be one of your best buys ever. Pros + 1080p IPS 14" display with Ultrathin bezel (esssentially makes the laptop very small in dimension) + Magnesium alloy top inner frame provides a good rubbery feel for palm rest (premium stuff) + Super slim (thickness ~1.9cm I bet you'll be tricked when you open the package) + Brushed aluminum-clad design with 2-level backlit keyboard (coz looks matters at this price) + Supports SSD + HDD and upto 16GB DDR4 RAM (almost future-proof) + Weighs 1.6kg!! (for reference my dell xps weighed monstrous 2.7kg) + Good Solid Hinge (screen hardly wobbles on touch) + The Best for editing/typing/everyday/travel + 7th Gen Core i5 consumes 15W only! (hence battery provides good backup) Cons (skip details, if you dont care) - Keyboard is great for typing and everyday stuff (for gaming/editing go wireless) - Trackpad is bit small for my preference (single biggest concern for smaller laptops, better go wireless) - Not for serious gamers (GTX 940MX can run most games @ 1080p but, dont expect 60FPS for AAA titles) - Webcam quality is okay, positioning is okay - Speakers are bottom facing and not loud (for reference my xps had JBL speakers + sub woofer :D) - Thunderbolt3 and battery indicator when turned off, should have been included If you can afford, go for the 15" core i7 version. The clock speed, cache, screensize, battery, graphics memory is more as compared to this model + you get a 128GB SSD as primary disk. Again this is not a gaming/editing laptop, but if you're responsible enough you are free to do anything within your hardwares' capabilities.

A great HD display, light weight and a nice looking laptop. The speaker quality is awesome. Have tried almost all games and it works like a charm.

I got this laptop 4 days ago. look is amazing, laptop size is small exactly how I wanted. Specs are as shown in the description. No lag till now. I'm playing games like need for speed most want 2 and run and crysis 3. Also I have to run heavy softwares like android studio, virtual servers and Photoshop at the same time. So, this is the perfect laptop for me both as a gamer and a programmer. I definitely recommend this laptop if you have budget around 65k.

Excellent product by Dell. The silver metallic finish adds a different class to it. The 14inch laptop has a even smaller footprint. The performance has been good till now. I have couple of VMs running without any problem. Have played CallOfDuty with good satisfaction although I am not crazy about games. Overall good product and till now not faced the dreaded heating issue of Dells.

An excellent Laptop for business use. Very sturdy and well engineered. Sufficient RAM and Hard disk space.

I am going to do a quick review of the pros and cons Note: At the time of writing the offline shops did not have this product and lied through their teeth that this one was not available in market. Pros: 1. Size, this laptop has a footprint of a 13 inch notebook. 2. Weight, 1.6 Kg weighed it myself. Big relief if your previous laptop was 2.5 Kg. 3. Metal build, my previous one was a HP and had a bad build quality this one is next only to probably the Macbook air. 4. The hardware and easy upgrade possibility, a big trump card over Macbook Air. 5. SSD option like I said in the previous point hardware is upgradable the laptop has a dedicated M2 SSD slot so you can install a SSD in future. 6. 2 RAM slots. 7. Touch pad, if you haven't used Microsoft precision touchpad you are in for a treat, nice touch pad not the best but good. 8. Finally dedicated graphics card even though I haven't played on this laptop but the included graphics card is not shabby though, there might be cooling issues for a laptop of its size. Cons: 1. The screen is glossy like a mirror, a matte screen would have been much better. 2. The keyboard area and palm rest has a kind of rubberized finish I don't know how it will hold the test of time. 3. The hard disk, its a 1TB HDD, I really wanted a SSD laptop but the SSD slot kind of makes up for it though DELL could have gone for a hybrid hard disk. 4. Packing, I mean would it cost that much to give your customers a good unboxing experience the packing was really lame from DELL. Finally I would like to say go for it if you want a windows 14 inch laptop, it is DELL's least publicized laptop and probably one of it's best and the tax pre GST is 6% after GST will be either 15% or 18% so buy before that if possible.

Amazing product

Writing this review in the same laptop. It's fun to use. I got it at 53k with exchange of my 8 yrs old atom netbook. Let's come to the cons and pro Pro: 1. Fast - This laptop is exceptionally fast. With a 5400 rpm hard disk, this is really fast. 2. Light and durable. The aluminium chassis have given this laptop good weight to size ratio. It hardly weighs more than 1.5 kg. The 1.6 Kg tag must be along with the charger which is moderately weighed. It's only 1.8cm thick. 3. Back-lit keyboard is good not great. It has little tactile feedback which feels good. Back-lit keyboard has 3 modes of brightness- off, low and high- with low and high brightness values not distant apart. The boot value can be defined in the bios. 4. The best thing about the laptop is its screen: It is practically bezel less. And you get 2 microphones, a camera and a camera status led in the bottom of the bezel. Though this laptop does not have a matte screen but the brightness is very good. The resolution (dpi) settings have to be changed from windows settings to 100%, which is set to 150% by default. Due to the bezel less design the laptop is having the same form factor as that of the 13.3 MacBook air. 5. Upgradability: this laptops ram is upgradable to 32 GB. It also has a M.2 ssd port. The M.2 port can be used with M.2 sata and pci-e. This is something which they fail to mention. So, if you can spend more 7k to get a 256 GB M.2 sata ssd, this laptop will do magic. 6.Heating: Great laptop to use on lap. After 2 hours of surfing and writing there is practically no heating from bottom. I have used the Mac's and they heat more. 7. Easy accessibility through back panel: the laptop provides eaasy accessibility to its inside parts. Just open the 10 screws in bottom and you get to access the motherboard. Remember the 3 screws near the screen hinge are non-removable type. So, unscrew and start pulling upward, slowly from the screen hinge and back-panel will come out. 8. Battery life: Good battery life and can easily last through 6-7 hours for normal work. Cons: 1.Palm rest heats: Mild heating of the palm rest can be observed. It will not make you uncomfortable but the sweat from your hand will ruin the rubberised palm rest. To avoid spoiling the palmrest I bought two matte mobile screen guard of appropriate size and stick it in both side of palmrest. I found out that tis heats due to hard disk. 2. Charger plug: Each time it has to be pushed a little else Dell will notify for un-authorised charger. It would have been better if the charger head was bend, else there is a possibility that it will tear off. Aluminium edges: Though gives a classy look, but should have been tapered near the hand rest as it sometime makes it uncomfortable while using on lap. There is also a risk of cutting yourself due to the sharp edges. 3. Graphics card: The 94MX is a 64 bit gfx. In total it only amounts to 30GBps (R9 270 has 182 GBPsS and GTX Titan X offers 336 GBPS) of processing bandwith. Compared with desktops this type of bandwidth is historic, found during the early 2010. So, do not expect to play any heavy game on this.But in a slim-lightweight- laptop like this and in the price range, it is more than enough. At the end: I would like to say this is a neat little Ultrabook that packs a good punch for daily multimedia usage. I have added a m.2 ssd from samsung (EVO 850). The laptop now boots in 15 second. It now provides a battery time of 7-8 hrs with mild usage. I have not tried heavy gaming. I have deleted all partitions, used rufus to create a boot dvd of windows 10 creators update (Windows 10 Single language license- remember while downloading the iso). Create a secure boot dvd (Rufus - GPT partition and Fat32 option to be used). Installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 on the ssd. Also downloaded the Office dvd from microsoft. Activating all of them needed just to log in with my id used previously to activate the original installations. This freed up approximately 40GB more and the laptop is also much faster as they are devoid of Dells bloatware. OH! the LED light status can be changed from showing HDD usage to battery charging by using "Fn+H" command. Thank you

Nice product, nice packing. I bought it on exchange, i felt difficulty at time of exchange. Pls clearly mention the terms and condition for exchange. I replace my dell laptop. its has a minor scratch on the outer glass of the display. (scratch was made by me at the time of cleaning the display with towel ).and delivery person not accepting the product because flipkart exchange policy given to him.

Slim ,lightweight ,a good attempt to reduce bezels.full HD display is a treat with great viewing angles.its brisk with 8 GB ram.pretty silent.silver edges on the grey brushed body looks classy.backlit keyboard too..great tactile kB.well if u are a casual user opt for the gold version otherwise office goers would stay with grey.

I should thank Flipkart for providing such an awesome deal. The market cost was around 71-73k. I got it for 52k and extra 999 for extended warranty with a voucher of 2k worth Goodies.
