First, there was the Coolpad Note 3 (Review) in late 2015. Then, the Note 3 Lite (Review) and Note 3 Plus (Review) were launched. All three were fairly similar, with only a few specs changed in order to meet different price points and keep up with the competition. Now, however, Coolpad has decided to resuscitate this product line and launch the Coolpad Note 3S, which is quite significantly different, but aims to capture the same market.
Coolpad Note 3S Summary
Coolpad has had a run of success with its previous Note 3 models, but the new Note 3S is a different story. This phone prioritises looks over performance, and has a tough time competing with its own predecessor. Other companies offer better performance and battery life at this price. We found the display and camera quality to be okay, but battery life was a disappointment and overall performance dips at times. The Note 3S will appeal to those who like its looks and its curved-edge glass, but isn't the best choice currently on the market.
