Asus seems to be on a roll with new models in its ZenFone 3 range popping up almost every month. The company has now launched what it's calling the ZenFone 3S Max, only three months after the ZenFone 3 Max launched. This might be seen as a knee-jerk reaction to the latest round of heavy-hitters in the low-cost space, and it might cause confusion in an already crowded market, but at least buyers get one more choice, and that's something we're always in favour of.
Asus ZenFone 3S Max Summary
The Asus ZenFone 3S Max has been launched just three months after the two ZenFone 3 Max models, and sits right between them. It has a huge 5000mAh battery but while battery life was good in our testing, it should have been much better. That aside, the phone is built well and feels solid. Performance is just about average. We're happy to see Android 7.0 Nougat, but Asus bogs it down with a severely bloated skin and tons of unnecessary apps. Overall, it's a decent choice at its price level, but could use a little more polish.
