It's uncomfortably slow as Windows 10 works fast only on SSD, so better get the SSD version (I'm going to install it as well)

  • *Good laptop after m.2 upgrade but wouldn't game on it
Mikoto (Apr 15, 2018) on Amazon
It's a really good laptop after a hard drive upgrade to an m.2. I wouldn't label this laptop under gaming mainly because of the battery not the graphics card. It can do light gaming but once you spend a good 30 mins in a game you're already near about 30% left. I guess that's why it has fast charging.

  • avoid this laptop like the plague
Kwongster (May 19, 2018) on Amazon
Unless you're desperate for a cheap/decent spec computer, avoid this laptop like the plague. This computer is so poorly designed despite it being a budget computer. I've mostly been working on a PC tower, and it never occurred to me how important knowing when Capslock is on. Its really frustrating having to go into notepad, just to see if your typing in your password correctly. At the same time, I also really hate the laptop charger. It feels loose, and the charger will disconnect at the slightest touch. Even with my older laptops, I always knew it was making a snug fit. Not for this laptop. Those are my two biggest pet peeve that honestly would have been a dealbreaker if I had known prior.

  • Beyond slow + design problems
John (Sep 13, 2018) on Amazon
This computer has an issue with 100% disk usage with task manager being unable to show me what the problem is. I have tried literally every fix I have come across online and nothing is permanently working. I bought this computer intending for it to be used for the rest of my junior year of high school (Got it in april or may), through my senior year, and through some college. Honestly, I wish i bought a different computer. This was not worth the 500 dollars. The specs are somewhat nice, i guess (i7 processor, decent graphics card), but it's absolutely pointless if just opening my browser causes unbearable lag.Asus customer support has been zero help, as well. I'll still continue trying to find a fix, but honestly, I am extremely annoyed. This computer was 500 dollars, I expected betterOther various problems:The battery currently doesn't last any longer than an hourThere's these things on the bottom of the laptop that causes it to not sit flat on most surfaces you put it on, which is infuriating.Overall:Unless you're willing to spend months of trying to figure out why your 500 dollar laptop is so laggy, just look for something else honestly.

  • The Hard drive Speed is terrible

The HDD in this laptop is absolutely disgustingly bad. Every other part in it is fine but a bad HDD ruins it all.

  • It is slow and not worth the price
Valerie White (Aug 13, 2020) on Amazon
It can do very basic thing a most of the time. But ot can be extremely slow. Nothing I do helps it. Some days it runs fine, but other times it performs slower than my 6 year old laptop. It might just be a lemon, but I am not happy with it. My 32-bit desktop computer from 10 years ago was more reliable and faster.

  • Very slow so I checked the task manager and it ...
James F. Bohmbach (Nov 30, 2017) on Amazon
Very slow so I checked the task manager and it was showing 100% disk usage even when the computer was not doing any operations. So I checked online and found that this could sometimes be caused by bugs in the Windows 10 operating system. I tried debugging it by turning off file indexing and superfetch etc. Eventually I re-installed the whole operating system and still was getting the same thing so now I've returned it. Laptops are supposed to work right out of the box!

  • This computer is the slowest and most terrible computer I have ever used
Gabby (May 18, 2018) on Amazon
This computer is the slowest and most terrible computer I have ever used. I have owned it for several months and had problems with it for the beginning. It literally took 3 hours for it to download everything it needed to get set up which is insane. It also had a faulty keyboard and the speakers were messed up. About a month ago it got the blue screen of death due to some configuration issues but luckily I'm still under manufacturer warranty so I'm sending it out to Asus hoping they send me something different. I'm also lucky my boyfriend got an Hp computer for me to use for school which by the way only took a few minutes to get set up and has been working really well so far it also saved my life because as a college student you can't go without a computer for long!

  • Unreliable.
User (Apr 12, 2018) on Amazon
Terrible Laptop. Windows that came with it was not authenticating. After buying a new Windows License it worked for around a month and now it won't boot up. It keeps going into automatic repair. Over the course of the month performance was slow and MS Word kept crashing. I have tried to factory reset it and it doesn't work. I'm not an amateur user and work on the electronics and computers field. This was just a bad laptop or I was very unlucky with this purchase.

  • Don?t waste your $$
Amazon Customer (Nov 2, 2018) on Amazon
I?ve had this laptop for 6 months. Spent around $775 after taxes. I knew I wasn?t getting a top of the line product, but had read some decent reviews about Asus and figured if I upgraded to the i7 7th Gen processor, I wouldn?t be that bad off. Man was I wrong. This thing is so slow, it makes me wonder why I didn?t send it back immediately. Programs take anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute to open. Chrome browser will freeze and screen will go black with 5-10 tabs up. Microsoft has filled this thing with all kinds of apps and programs that you will never use (unless you?re age 8-14). I get add pop ups from Microsoft and other companies, even after putting the setting to block this. It constantly tries to link to my phone, use the voice recognition to ?obtain data?, and other just flat out annoying things. The HDMI port on the side has already stopped working (and yes, I checked multiple HDMI cables with other laptops and game consoles). I suppose it?s working for basically downloading music and searching the web, but I would hate to have it as a work computer. I can only imagine how slow it would be trying to use EXCEL, PowerPoint, or any other program.

  • WORST computer I?ve ever owned.
Jill (Jan 4, 2020) on Amazon
Completely unfunctional. Insane lag time, incredibly slow, and freezes/reboots every time I use..and I?ve barely used it (~30hrs total) since purchasing because it?s so bad/useless. Had entire operating system reinstalled and it?s still awful. How can this product even be sold? Waste of money...save yours and DON?T buy.

Crash too often, laggy, high cpu rate even if no app is running. Core i7 doesn?t mean nothing in this laptop.
