So far is a killer machine.

Impressed as heck! She's light, she's powerful... I'm editing 4k video with NO FPS issues... perfect for the frequent traveler.

Had some issue to get the free game, but amazon stepped up. Everything else is great.

I think this computer is great. I've had it for about a week now, and its been working fine the whole time. Though its bottom bezel, and right side of the keyboard get kind of hot during CPU intense games (like Cities skylines), with the fans blowing into the screen, it is totally fine and the CPU only barely broke 80 degrees. It runs War Thunder, and Battlefield 4 like a champ at max settings, and World of Warships hits 80 fps at high settings with 16x AA. Highly recommended for a moderate gamer, as it runs indy games no trouble at all. I do not plan on playing many 2017 AAA games on it however, as that's what consoles are for. #consolepleb

This is for the GL702VS, very solid performer, a very welcome upgrade. Solid build quality, easy upgrade options and really great value for the money.

Great machine hands down. Only problem is the new games on ultra will not run above 70-80 fps. Some times games will dip into the 40s for a few seconds. Like I said that's on ultra. If turned down to maybe mid range you will get 120fps. All n all super happy. Came from a 2500k oc at 4.8 with R9 390x. Compared to that I'm getting almost 2x the fps.

Bought this to upgrade from my 2014 ASUS G751 laptop. There are amazing advancement's / improvements all around. The 120hz GSYNC screen is incredible, which makes the transition from desktop to laptop much easier. The 1070 is insanely powerful...as long as you aren't trying to run every modern game at ultra settings, you will easily get 120fps to match the 120hz refresh rate. I'm also extremely happy this model came in 15' with all the same specs as the 17' model. Usually they skimp out on the 15' model in one way or another, but not the case here. I'd much rather have a slightly smaller frame for easier portability. The new design is great too, (with this model being under 5 pounds), finally making a great portable gaming machine possible. Took about 10 mins to remove all the bloatware, which is always suggested. All in all i have no complaints or regrets.

Great product and fast

I've had this machine for a month or so now. I've played the latest Witcher, Fallout, and other games on it and it plays them all well on max settings. When it sits on my desktop, I use HDMI or display port out to a 32 inch curved monitor...great for productivity. Also easy to use the laptop elsewhere in the house or it fits nicely in a messenger bag for travel. My buds are jealous that I have a GTX1070 at such a great price. Highly recommend.

This laptop is absolutely amazing. The 1070 & 7700hq destroy games. The screen is bright and vivid, with great contrast and colours. 120hz is really smooth. The sata3 ssd drive makes windows 10 really snappy and boots quickly. The laptop itself is great looking. It's very slim and light. The brushed chrome look doesn't pick up fingerprints too much. This is a all around, well built laptop. One negative is this laptop gets kinda loud when gaming. But if you're wearing headphones you have nothing to worry about. Other than that, this laptop is awesome!Note - returned this laptop because of driver issues

Only had it two weeks. So far no problems. Solid construction, does everything I want it to do.I will try to remember to come back and post updates in a couple of months as I find more things about it.

So far this laptop has been one of the best laptops I've ever bought. I was searching for something thin and light to carry with me so I could work on the go, but I'm also a gamer so I wanted something I could have a good experience gaming on as well. The problem I kept running into was that a lot of thin laptops with a high end GPU (1070, 1080, etc.) were pairing the GPU with a 4K screen. I didn't want a 4K screen at 15 - 17 inches. I favor framerate and g-sync over resolution; and besides that a 1080p 17 inch screen already boasts a higher pixel density than my 27 inch 1440p g-sync monitor. At 4K I'd have to sacrifice visual options and frame rate for screen resolution. Pairing a 1070 with a 1080p high refresh rate screen was the sweet spot for me.It worked out pretty good. This laptop is under 7 pounds, so super light for me, and is around an inch thick on average. The 512GB SSD loads all my applications for work super fast, and the 1TB HDD is there for larger projects, games, media, etc. The keyboard has a good feel to it, the build of the laptop is sturdy, and the 120hz monitor is nice, clear and responsive. It also has all the connection ports I'd need.While this laptop does everything I need it to do, there is one issue. The CPU gets hot during demanding games (due to two heat pipe shared CPU-GPU cooling system) and causes it to throttle back from its maximum speed. I'd recommend anyone who picks one of these up to undervolt the CPU. Done properly you get the same stability, but lower temps which means your CPU can operate at its maximum frequency. This also has the benefit of letting your laptop run longer on battery.It's light, it's fast, it's powerful, and the build quality is sturdy. I highly recommend it.

Had this laptop for a couple weeks now and am 100% satisfied with it. Everything is great only minor concern, as other full reviews on this have noted, is the speakers/sound is meh. I don't care as I use headphones/speakers so i never cared about that all.

Best Hardware I found for the price

Had this laptop for awhile now and it has been an excellent laptop. Unlike the older generation this one does not discharge the battery while playing a graphics intense game. Works excellent if you have to game away from your regular gaming machine. Understand that this is a gaming laptop so you will not be able to game or do much away from an outlet. Been an excellent laptop.

Firstly, the model I bought is GL502VM, so the review I write below is all about GL502VM.It?s a really fast and powerful laptop, no doubt about that. It could easily handle whatever you throw at it. For short, if you want a gaming laptop at this price range that is powerful enough, well-built, thin and light, you might want to check this one out at your local BestBuy store. (And, of course, compare the price)***************************Detailed review after a month of use************************************PROs:1. It?s very thin and light as a gaming laptop(especially the VM model), very easy to carry around.2. It looks cool and feels solid built. The top panel is aluminum. Although the body feels somewhat plastic-y, it prevents the heat transferring to where your hands rest while gaming.3. The speakers are really nice. They sound great.4. The fans are quiet. Quieter than I though,t considered a 1060 running in the body.5. The keyboard feels comfortable for typing and gaming. You could easily type fast on this keyboard.6. The screen looks really nice, the IPS panel got good viewing angles. And with G-sync, it?s very smooth.CONs:1. HDD is not 7200rpm. Major disappointment on this one. Most of its competitors are using 7200rpm HDD. If this matters to you, you might need to change one after.2. Battery life is not that great. And, yes, because the heat management module is still the same as the old one used for 970M, removing the hot air while gaming is not its major advantage. Also for those who got throttling while gaming, turn down the game settings a little bit, it won?t hurt but it helps a lot.For reference, NFS18 under 1080p with everything on high and G-sync on, I got around 65*C on CPU&GPU, and with mid I got 55*C. CSGO under 1080p with everything on high default and G-sync off, I hit 300fps easily and got 75*C on CPU&GPU; Same resolution with everything on mid and fps limited to 200fps, I got 55*C on CPU&GPU. And I have to say, every time after I quit the game, it would drop back to normal temp very quickly. I also do code compiling and IC simulation on this laptop, but I never got the temperature high enough to be unbearable.At last, if you really want to lower your laptop temp, you could check out Thuan Nguyen?s updated review. He?s got a different model from me, but the method could still be applied.

Big and excellent

Amazing speed, excellent product. My son is very happy with its overall gaming experience with this laptop. Not running hot, however, the fan is little loud.

I own the 15 inch GTX 1070 version of this product. The laptop is very light and packs a ton of power. As other reviews have said, you should monitor the laptop's temperatures. I recommend utilizing the pre-installed ROG gaming center to monitor temperatures. While this laptop can very quickly reach temperatures of 70-80c while gaming, managing heat is not a problem. I purchased a laptop cooling fan that provides ample space between surface and laptop base. This keeps the laptop below 70c while gaming and on average, 40-50c while web browsing. It's very easy to manage the temperatures. I have played all games on ultra settings with ease. Update: I purchased the Oculus rift to use with this laptop and it runs smoothe with no issues. Due to the Oculus rift's need for several USB ports, this laptop will support the two sensor set up of Oculus. However, you will not be able to use any USB product like a mouse and keyboard while using the Oculus rift.

Awesome and earlier than expected

Happy with the purchase so far. As others have stated it's a bit loud, and it will thermal throttle, but for the price and features I'm really happy.

All it is advertised to be. Plays most games on high or ultra at 60fps or higher with older titles. The screen is awesome, looks great and g-sync works like a charm! Would recommend to anyone

Great Laptop, nice graphics, does perfect for a balanced usage. I do alot of stuff for work on it, school work, and gaming. Its a great laptop, it meets my standards and exceeds them in most all aspects. This vomputer does run a little warm however when playing games that are demanding. Simple fix though, buy a computer cooler. The battery life is good, however it comes in at a little more than 3 hrs, but I mean for a gaming laptop? That's what I'd expect. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase.
