Yahoo has updated its photo-sharing app Flickr to version 3.1.0 for Android and iOS users, with some new features related to tagging, editing and sharing.
The latest Flickr app for Android and iOS brings the option for users to share their images via social websites like Facebook, Twitter, or via other services like Tumblr, Mail or SMS.
Besides several bug fixes and improved performance, the group admins on Flickr can now invite photos to a group. The updated app also now allows users to add and edit the tags/ descriptions of the photos, and also receive notifications when their photos are invited in a group.
Flicker for Android users in addition now have the option to browse other people's profiles in justified view, and will also receive other performance improvements and bug fixes for the app.
Flickr for iOS can be downloaded from the App Store, while the Android users can download it from Google Play Store.
Flickr last updated its app for Android and iOS users in April to version 3.0 with a redesigned UI. It was then noted that the new UI is designed for quick sharing and browsing. Other features in the Flickr 3.0 included Auto Sync feature, which allows users to upload original quality images from the smartphone directly to the Flickr account; batch-editing, which allows users to organise Flickr images and videos into albums or edit privacy settings, along with the delete option; improved sharing features to other social platforms such as Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter, as well as a new search feature which shows search results based on groups, people, time, date and location.
Other major changes in Flickr 3.0 included People tags - much like Facebook and Twitter, Flickr users can now tag friends in image titles and comments by using @ sign; new hashtag feature to trigger search results and new privacy indicator, which now shows an image marked as public or private by the user.
