Microsoft has announced that Windows Phone Marketplace has crossed the 70,000 apps milestone recently and is growing at the speed of over 300 apps per day, reported Chinese publication Sina. This number is up from 50,000 in December and 60,000 in January 2012.
Windows Phone platform is often criticised because of the lack of apps and reaching this milestone would certainly make Microsoft happy. Among its competitors, both Android and iOS have over half a million apps each.
Company recently launched Windows Phone in China, which is set to become the world's biggest smartphone market in terms of shipments, and this launch would certainly help the company in wooing developers to its platform.
