VLC, the popular open-source media player, has just announced the release of VLC 2.0 "Twoflower" for all platforms.
Major new features include:

- Faster decoding on multi-core, GPU and mobile hardware i.e. smoother playback on most new hardware.
- Support for new codecs - 10bits codecs, WMV image and others.
- Experimental support for BluRay discs.
- Completely reworked Mac and Web interfaces.
- Higher quality subtitles.
- New video filters.
