UCWeb has rolled out a new update to its UC Browser HD (version 3.0) browser app for Android, a mobile and tablet browser designed for big screen devices.

Some of the new additions in UC Browser HD 3.0 include gesture controlled browsing, which requires just a swipe of finger to go forward and backward through webpages; a gesture controlled video player, which detects the videos on a webpage and activates the built-in player offering gesture control over the video being played. In addition, the volume, brightness and playback progress of the video can be adjusted with a single finger slide.

Another addition to UC Browser HD with version 3.0 is the intelligent text zoom feature, which automatically enlarges the text on the webpage with a text body, such as news articles and forums.

UC Browser HD 3.0 also brings the Page Preloader feature, which automatically loads the next page for reading while a user reads through the first page. The Page Preloader feature comes in handy while reading an e-book on a tablet or phablet.

The Cloud Sync option sync bookmarks between various devices using a Gmail, Facebook, or UC account.

Other features of the updated UC Browser HD 3.0 browser include incognito browsing, which leaves no record of browsing history; Night Mode, that dims the screen and also adjusts the visual style to protect the user's eyes from harm in low light settings; Speed Dial, which gives access to favourite webpages from the home page, and a shortcut widget, which brings customizable on-screen shortcuts to the browser.

Earlier, UCWeb released the latest version (v9.6) of the UC Browser for Android, touting new features and better browsing speed. The highlight feature of UC Browser 9.6 was the 'Easy Downloading Mode', which apparently helped make the user's device into the 'ultimate resource grabber'.
