UCWeb on Monday brought what it calls the "biggest update" to its UC Browser app for Android, pushing it to version 10.7.0. The Android browser app now comes with a new user interface and gives users quick and easy access to more content from the Internet.

The UC Browser version 10.7 now comes with a new set of "specially designed" background images and also lets users customise the home page easily with a new navigation page, which now features a card-style arrangement of different tabs. The cards can be rearranged as per the user preferences and can be pinned at the top. Some of the cards included in the new UC Browser version are Headlines, Top Sites, Jokes, Cricket Match, Cricket Topic, Top Free Apps, Opinion, Trending Video, Shopping, and more. Pinning a page on top means that user would see it as the first page when the app is opened.

The new update is also said to make use of the browser's cloud technology for an increase in the speed of webpage loading.

"UC Browser is the first mobile browser to introduce cloud computing. With the new launch, UC Browser once again stands ahead of the industry to further consolidate its focus for India, where almost half of total page views on mobile phones are accessed from UC Browser (as per StatCounter). This new update will transform the way nearly half of India's mobile browsing traffic is consumed," said Kenny Ye, Managing Director, UCWeb India.

The updated UC Browser app can be downloaded from Google Play.

UCWeb in July introduced cloud-based features to UC Browser for Windows. As for the iPhone version, the app got some UI changes along with the ad blocker feature and a video player.
