Uber has rolled out its Dial an Uber feature - which lets users book rides without installing the app - to all 29 Indian cities it operates in. To recall, the service had been launched in August in just four cities - Guwahati, Jodhpur, Kochi, and Nagpur.

As before, to avail of the Dial an Uber service, users will have to navigate to dial.uber.com via their mobile browser, enter their phone number to login or sign-up, and request their ride. They will then by connected with driver over call to coordinate a pickup. Once the trip is completed, you can pay driver in cash.

Uber notes that users of the Dial an Uber service will not be able to access receipts or support unless they are using the full app. Cancellations will still incur a fee, chargeable on the next trip.

"Dial an Uber offers a convenient choice to customers looking to book a ride and is testament to our focus on using our technological edge to make mobility reliable and accessible for everyone," said Apurva Dalal, Head of Engineering, Uber India, in a statement.

Uber earlier this month rolled out Uber Weddings to 12 cities in India, aiming to help users offer hassle-free rides to their guests. The feature will be available in 12 cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, New Delhi, Pune, and Udaipur.

Also earlier this month, Uber unveiled the biggest redesign to its app yet, and also unveiled the 'shortcuts' feature that shows frequent destinations and even syncs with the user's calendar. Uber also said it will soon launch a feature called People that will let users set a person as a destination, rather than a location.
