Twitter has updated its Windows 10 and iPad clients to introduce several features and enhance the overall experience. Among several additions to Twitter's Windows 10 client, are group messaging and support for multiple accounts. The iOS client is getting a responsive design, and several features that were previously available on the iPhone client.

For years Twitter has neglected the Windows platform, and its modern app on Windows 8 does not offer several features. But it seems the company is finally giving it some attention. The Twitter for Windows 10 client is getting the much-needed group messaging feature (Group Direct Messages). Users will also be able to access more than one account at once, as the micro-blogging platform has added support for multiple accounts.

Other features include the ability to comment on other people's tweets, and quote tweets, and also the ability to view, feature, and subscribe to lists. Windows users will also see a new 'Happening Now' section that will allow them to keep a tab on what's trending on the social network. Twitter will also auto-save their incomplete tweets as drafts for them.

Separately, Twitter's iPad app has been updated to add an iPhone-style user interface, and several of its new features, making it a universal app. The new interface looks like a stretched version of the social network's iPhone client. The company noted that it took the device type, orientation, canvas, size class, and typographic settings and constraints into consideration while designing the app.

The unification is a good news for both users and consumers. For an end user, the features available in the iPhone app will be available to iPad client as well. For Twitter, it will be easier and convenient to add new features to both the clients.
