Twitter, after testing a new profile redesign on the Web that was a complete departure from the original style, seems to be gearing up to roll out the new profile redesign to its iOS app.

The Next Web reports that Twitter has updated its iOS app for some users, and added some new features to the user's profile such as a 'Me' tab at the bottom of the profile page; the profile image of the user has been shifted to the left side, instead of centre, and the new profile page has two new timeline options (titled images and favourites).

However, the report suggests that the new profile redesign for Twitter's iOS app is not yet being rolled out to all users, and is likely being tested on limited users.

Notably, the new redesigned Twitter user profile is very similar to that of a Facebook Timeline, or Google+ profile page.

An earlier report also suggested that Twitter is testing ways to hid at-reply (@reply) and hashtags (#) in conversation.

Twitter on Wednesday added Facebook-style photo "tagging" and bumped up the number of images that iPhone users can share in a single post.

The new update enables as many as 10 people to be tagged in a single image with names without eating into the 140-character limit to text messages posted at the service.

Earlier a report suggested that Twitter has been testing a feature in its iOS app that allowed users to check how many people saw their tweet.

Twitter has been on an update releasing spree since its eighth birthday. The micro-blogging major rolled out a new video hosting platform that allowed Android and iOS users to see previews of shared videos in their feeds, previews which would be played with just one click.
