The Verge reports that some users claim their Twitter iOS app now shows the number of views a tweet has received below the post. The report claims that this is the first time Twitter is rolling out such a feature, very reminiscent of 'likes' on Facebook. The number of people who viewed the tweet will be visible to all users underneath every post.
As of now, there is no word from the social giant of when the tweet view counts feature will be officially rolled out.
The tweet view counts feature on Twitter might be a boon to many but could be disheartening for some, especially those with a limited number of followers, who might see their tweets were totally unread. Currently, Twitter users are notified when someone retweeted or favourited a given tweet.
