The immensely popular non-stop running game now with over 170 million downloads, just became better by launching in a new avatar. Temple Run 2 has been released for the iOS with Imangi Studios promising an Android launch soon.
The free app comes with tons of new gameplay features and storylines offering more diverse and stunning environments with the introduction of new traps and hurdles along the way. Imangi says the game now also has new characters, more powerups, special achievements, better gameplay graphics and this time round a bigger monkey chasing you down the structures.
Certain elements of gameplay in Temple Run 2 are somewhat reminiscent of another running game called Pitfall! especially the rope swinging and the trailer riding sequences in the mines, being all the more colourful. But we aren't complaining. Imangi says that they will release the Android version of the game for smartphones and tablets most likely by next week.
You can make in-app purchases like Coin Value, Coin Magnet, Shield Duration, Pickup Spawn, Boost Distance and Power Meter to add more excitement to your Temple Run 2 experience.
In June last year, Imangi Studios had teamed up with Disney for a special edition of the game and brought
Temple Run Brave for
iOS and
Android, with the the locale and character based on the Disney - Pixar movie, Brave. You are in control of Merida, the main protagonist - helping her run, slide, jump and turn and shoot your way across the wilds of Scotland.
