Most preloaded apps on the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge can be disabled as well as uninstalled/ deleted, claims a new report.

A XDA Developer forum member has posted screenshots from the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge that show the ability to uninstall apps that ship with the new flagship. The screenshots show menu panel including all apps with a dash sign above several apps for disabling or deleting them.

Interestingly, screenshots indicate that Samsung Galaxy S6 users can even disable and delete Samsung's own apps such as S Health, S Voice as well as popular Google apps including Google Search app, Hangouts, Gmail, and Voice Search among others.

Notably, the XDA forum member spotted the disable and delete feature on his Galaxy S6 Edge; though considering that both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge feature identical software, we can expect the Galaxy S6 will also allow apps to be disabled and removed.

The screenshots are in-line with an earlier report confirm that both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge come bundled with Microsoft apps, which for some reason were never mentioned at the MWC launch.

The rumours that pointed towards Samsung preloading some Microsoft apps certainly came out to be true. Both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge handsets come preloaded with Microsoft apps such as OneDrive, OneNote, and Skype.

Ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge launch, reports about the handset being built from scratch were around alongside rumours pointing out that both the new smartphones will feature an improved TouchWiz UI that was also more responsive.

On Monday, Samsung India announced the launch of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge flagship smartphones in India. The Galaxy S6 will be available at Rs. 49,900 for the 32GB variant while the Galaxy S6 Edge is priced at Rs. 58,900.
