As
promised earlier, Rovio has released The Croods game for iOS and Android in partnership with DreamWorks. The free game is now available in the App Store and Google Play Store.
The Croods is an upcoming 3D animated movie from DreamWorks Animation, SKG Inc set to release on March 22 2013. It narrates the story of the world's first caveman family that sets out on a road trip adventure. The characters include Eep the teenage rebel, Grug the dad, Gran the mother-in-law, Sandy the wild child, Thunk the meat head, Ugga the mom, Guy the new guy, and Belt the sloth.
The family is said to be moving beyond the Stone Age era with the use of a new r-evolutionary tool: the IDEA! The film will star voice overs from actors like Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke, and Cloris Leachman.
The game will feature 10 crazy never-seen-before Croodaceous creatures such as the Girelephant or Molarbear that that users will need to trap and tame that will help them to grow and level up. Think you can catch them all?
They will find themselves creating wacky inventions with Grug, the over protective Crood patriarch to open and explore new landscapes and help the Croods survive in the wild with the help of each other. The game will also allow users to decorate their pre-historic surroundings with caveman fashion accessories.
The game is definitely strategy-based and draws inspiration from Pokemon, that also let users catch different creatures and train them to engage in Pokemon fights with other trainers.
This is isn't the first game Rovio has developed based on a movie theme. Angry Birds Rio was inspired from the movie Rio revolving around the journey of the bird named Blu, a domesticated macaw from small-town Minnesota, who meets the fiercely independent Jewel and they embark on an adventure in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The Finnish gaming studio's Angry Birds Star Wars has been an instant hit since inception.
Angry Birds Toons is another new venture by the company, which is an all-new animated series set on Piggy Island. The animated series will feature short animation episodes and will be aired every week starting the weekend of March 16th. The episodes promise to take viewers on the latest adventures of the furious avian flock and the egg-thirsty swine.
Angry Birds Toons can be downloaded through on-demand services, and will also air on television channels such as FOX8 in Australia, ANTV in Indonesia,
Cartoon Network in India, and MTV3 Juniori and MTV3 in Finland, it said.
