Foursquare, the free location-based app that lets users check-in at different locations and share their experiences with friends, has now released a revamped app with support for the full range of Nokia's Series 40 phones.

The official blog post of Foursquare confirmed the news. "Today, we're releasing an all-new Foursquare app for the full range of Nokia's S40 phones, including all the new Asha devices. Hundreds of millions of people around the world use Nokia S40 phones, and now they'll all have access to Foursquare. Now, all those people can use Foursquare to make the most of where they are and where they're going," said the blog.

The company also announced a tie-up with Nokia which means that Foursquare will come pre-loaded on some Asha devices that will be launched in next few months. Those using Nokia Series 40 devices can install the new Foursquare app here.

Foursquare was created in 2009 by founders Dennis Crowley and Naveen Selvadurai with an idea to use mobile devices to relate with their environment. By numbers, Foursquare has around 30 million people worldwide in its community and has over 3 billion check-ins, with about a million every day.

Engadget, after confirming with Nokia, claims that Foursquare does not require GPS to work on Series 40 devices. However, the list of Foursquare compatible Asha devices is not available as of now.

Recently, Nokia unveiled a low-end Asha phone, Asha 210 with a dedicated WhatsApp key for social junkies and now the company has tied up with a popular geographical location based app. It seems both Foursquare and Nokia wants to grab good share in low-end phone market.

Last month, Foursquare updated its iOS and Android apps bringing the ability to check-in your friends when you're out together.
