Considering the huge popularity of the social networking platform Reddit worldwide, the release of its official app was awaited for several years. Reddit finally launched its official apps for both Android and iOS back in April this year but interestingly the app didn't come with support for iPad. Now, with version 2.0 update of the app for iOS, support for iPad has finally made its way to the official client.
Reddit was able to release its official app with the help of Alien Blue, one of the most popular third-party Reddit apps, which was acquired by Reddit in October 2014. Interestingly, despite the support for iPad available on Alien Blue, the support for tablet didn't make its way to the official client. The user interface on the iPad version of the app is similar to the iPhone version but with margins on both left and right hand side, as noted by MacStories. Due to this, there is a noticeable amount of white space when the app is used in landscape mode.
As per the change-log on app's App Store page, the new update also brings bug fixes for Reddit Live.
"Funny cat photos, trending news stories, and the best discussions on the Internet-these are just a few of the awesome things the official Reddit app does best," the app's description says on App Store.
