Pokemon Go has taken the world by a storm and there is no denying the fact that the mobile game based on decades old franchise has developed a fan following like no other mobile game has before. But there is still a part of world that has been left out of this phenomenon, at least until now.

Windows Phone users have been petitioning for the release of the augmented reality-based game on the platform ever since its release and one such complaint post on Facebook recently generated a reply from Microsoft Portugal, which said that the game might soon be making its way to Windows Phones. The translated text from the reply reads:

Hi Rafael,

The application will be home soon, which refers to the windows phone store.

Thank you,

Team Microsoft Portugal

However, the comment has since been retracted, as highlighted by GSM Arena, and a new comment has been posted by the company, which reads (on translation):

Dear fans, we apologize if the comment published previously you induced in error. We have actually received requests for this application will be available for windows phone. The store windows [Windows Store] is evaluating options to satisfy this request in the best possible way. We promise to keep you abreast of any developments.

The company seems to have backed off from its previous statement that indicated that the game will come to the Windows Store. However, it might be also a case where the company gave out confidential information way too soon. In any case, we will have to wait and see if the game comes to Microsoft's mobile platform.
