For those unaware, Smart Lock feature unlocks the Android devices when they enter trusted locations marked by the user or detects trusted devices nearby. This eliminates the extra time taken to put the log in ID and Password to unlock the device. The search giant last year extended this feature as Smart Lock for Passwords in which users can save app username-password to directly sign in. The Netflix Android app was one of them.

As spotted by Android Police, the Smart Lock feature for Android TV now lets you directly sign into the Netflix account when it detects a trusted mobile device nearby. To experience the new feature, you would have to save your Netflix account ID and password in the Smart Lock section of your 'trusted' smartphone or tablet. Then you can log out from the Netflix account on Android TV, exit the app and open it again. Once opened, the Smart Lock feature will automatically sign you in to the account bypassing the log in page. Users will have to make sure their Netflix app for Android TV is updated however - update might take some time to reach all the regions as it is being rolled out in phases.

Over the years, Netflix, which offers a collection of over 35,000 movies and TV shows, has started to produce its own shows under Netflix Original moniker. Some of these original shows include Orange is the New Black, Jessica Jones, and House of Cards. These shows have been faring well with users and experts alike. In fact, for the 73rd Golden Awards, which will be held on January 10, Netflix has eight nominations.
