Microsoft's Cortana for Windows 10 is now available in India, and three other regions. Microsoft announced on Tuesday that it is rolling out its digital voice assistant to India, Japan, Australia, and Canada to Windows Insiders who are on the build 10532 and higher versions.

An earlier version of Cortana is now available in India in English language, Windows chief Gabriel Aul announced in a blog post. The company further assured that it would roll out an update later this month to improve voice support in the country.

Microsoft is also releasing Cortana in Japan, Australia, and Canada. The digital voice assistant will be available as an optional download to users. The feature will be available to users who have participated in Windows Insider program. Users also need to be on the latest Insider Preview build - dubbed 10532.

The company also announced that it would be launching Cortana to Brazil and Mexico soon. A French-supported version of Cortana will release in Canada soon, too. Microsoft has not detailed when the service will be made available to Windows 10 users not on the preview cycle.

Announced as a flagship feature of Windows Phone 8.1 last year, Cortana is Microsoft's take on Apple's Siri, and Google's Google Now assistants. The voice assistant has been well-received by users and critics alike; however, its limited availability has kept users in queue for long.

Microsoft is aggressively expanding Cortana. The company introduced the digital voice assistant to the desktop platform with Windows 10. In July, the company released a public beta of Cortana on Android platform. It plans to launch Cortana on iOS by later this year.

The arrival of Cortana in the preview build suggests that the feature will arrive on the stable version of Windows soon too. It also means that many users wouldn't have to use workarounds to use the feature on their machine, which is always a relief.
