LinkedIn, a professional social networking website, has rolled out an update to its Android and iOS apps with a focus on easy access to certain features, along with a visual overhaul for user profiles.
"Your LinkedIn Profile is your professional identity of record. It's also the heart of LinkedIn. Your new profile helps you tell your story to other professionals when they're looking for you on the go," stated the official LinkedIn blog post.
Users via the redesigned LinkedIn app for Android and iOS can take a look who has viewed them, and then see what they in common, from schools, to people and interests.
The updated LinkedIn mobile app also enables users to easily edit the basic information on their profile via new dedicated 'Edit' button that can now be seen right below the profile picture and the basic user information. LinkedIn says the Edit button leads users through a 'simple guided editing experience.'
The professional social networking giant adds that with the updated LinkedIn app for Android and iOS, users can also see pages of their favourite schools from directly within the app.
The Business Insider adds that the revamped LinkedIn app also bring the 'Insight' feature, which sends users an alert whenever someone else views their profiles.
LinkedIn says that it is launching the update on mobiles first because "thinking mobile forces us to innovate and radically rethink, focus and simplify what's most important."
The updated LinkedIn app can be downloaded from Google Play and App Store for Android and iOS users respectively. The update is yet to reach Windows Phone users, and the team said it is "working hard to ensure that your LinkedIn experience from desktop to mobile and across our family of mobile apps is a seamless one."
Last month, LinkedIn launched a new app called Job Search that is specially made for online job seekers. The app is promised to keep the user searches completely private, and LinkedIn says the searches will not be shared with anyone on the user's network. The new Job Search app for iOS is currently available in the US only.
