While Google updated its Hangouts for Gmail and the Hangouts app for
Android, it also gave a minor update to the Inbox by Gmail
app. The app was launched
in October this year and is still accessible via the invite-only
system.
The update for Inbox by Gmail app now improves the Android user's
tablet experience and comes with few interface tweaks and performance
improvements. The updated Inbox app now also gives suggestions while
creating a reminder in the app.
As for Android Wear users, the Inbox app now
lets them view messages, mark them as done, and reply to mails without
opening the app on the smartphone. The updated Inbox app is available to
download from Google Play.
It is worth noting that the performance improvements and the Reminder
suggestions feature is also available for iOS users in the form of app
version 1.1, as per the App Store listing.
-Improved tablet experience
-Works with Android Wear - view messages, mark as done and reply without taking out your phone
-Suggestions as you type (or tap!) help you create Reminders more quickly
Google,
besides updating its Inbox app, also announced support
for Content Security Policy (CSP) in Gmail on Wednesday. With the
addition of CSP support, Google says
that it aims to eliminate those extensions that behave 'badly' and load
certain codes interfering with the user's Gmail session.
The
search giant recently updated
its Drive app for Android and iOS, and the Docs, Sheets, and Slides
Android apps. Users were recently also given more options
to edit and work with Office documents from Gmail. Earlier this month
Google announced that users could click on a dedicated button placed
next to download a file or save to Google Drive button and start editing.
The firm adds that the Microsoft Office attachment gets saved and
converted in Drive to Google's own document format.
