Google starts rolling out updated Calendar and YouTube apps for Android

Google, soon after rolling out Chromecast update that allowed casting of YouTube livestream videos from desktops, has now added the feature to its YouTube app for Android. Google has also updated its Calendar app to offer location auto-complete option from Google Maps while creating a new event.

The latest YouTube for Android update (version 5.6) allows users to cast live videos. Android Police first reported the YouTube update and claims that the cast feature now works on the YouTube app. Other features in the new YouTube for Android update include improved Watch Later UI.

Notably, the YouTube for Android update has not reached Google Play India yet, with the current listing showing 14 April 2014 as the last update for the app. However, the Calendar app has reached the Indian shores and is now available for download at Google Play India.

Earlier on Wednesday, Google slipped up and gave out a glimpseof some of its upcoming Mother's Day offers and deals on the Google Play for a brief period.

Google released its stock camera app for Android 4.4+ KitKat devices, dubbed Google Camera on Thursday.

Google also extended its Chrome Remote Desktop feature to the Android platform in the form of an app, making it possible to access Windows and Mac machines via Android smartphones and tablets via the new Chrome Remote Desktop app for Android.
