Google has rolled out a new app for Google+ called Hangout Captions at the National Association of the Deaf's annual conference in Louisville, KY. As the name of the app suggest, now Hangouts users will also be able to see captions along with their video chat and thus making hangouts much easier to use for the users with hearing-impairments.

For now, the Hangout Captions app is supporting transcription provided by StreamText or local transcription inside of the Hangout.

This new app was announced by Naomi Black from the Google Accessibility. She wrote on her Google+ account, "I have been working with ace Hangout developers Robert Pitt, Mohammad Eshbeata, and Brian Aldridge on a new app to make communication between deaf and hearing participants easier in your Google+ Hangouts."

Furthermore, Naomi Black also posted a video demonstrating how this app works.

In the month of May, Google had rolled out the feature add captions to videos uploaded to Google+.

Hangout captions app is currently available through the app website.
