A bug has been spotted on the Google Play store under many applications' review sections. The bug lets users post their reviews on the corresponding apps' Google Play store pages, but fails to show the names linked with the users' Google+ accounts, instead just displaying "A Google User."

The bug, first spotted in the review section of the 10000000 app, is now seen to be affecting a variety of popular apps, such as WhatsApp, Facebook, UC Browser and more.

While the web interface has been affected and needs to be worked upon by Google, the Play Store app for smartphones remain safe and show the names of the reviewers. One can look at the bug-infected comments under the Facebook app page here.

The Play Store app got an update back in December 2013, which came with a number of UI tweaks, including an indicator for in-app purchases, a new review layout and a new activity feed.

In addition, another change the Play Store app update had brought was in review layouts. The star ratings for the review had been enlarged with an edit button for making the required changes to the review. In addition, Google has also added an option to delete a review.

Google also added its 'Recently Updated' section to the Play Store app in August, an update which included combined notifications, Book sales with full list prices (much like Amazon), and the Buy and Rent keys being swapped in Movies, and the update notification displaying a "Touch to update" message.
